At New World Hosting we understand that change can be scary. We can help! There are two key steps to moving your account from an existing provider to New World Hosting:
I. Moving your files. Many clients prefer to upload their web sites themselves, but if you need assistance, we can help with the move. There are some technical issues involved, so if you're thinking of going this route, give us a call, or open a support ticket, and we'll explain the details.
II. Domain Names. If you're buying a new domain name from us, then we take care of everything. If you already own your domain name, then you will need to transfer your domain name. There are actually two ways of transferring your domain name: a name server change (DNS) or a full domain transfer. The difference between these two is simple, and again, we can help:
Domain Name Server (DNS) change will keep the domain at the current registrar, and they will manage the billing for that domain. Every registrar has a process for changing or "re-pointing" DNS; you can update your domain name to reflect our settings, or we can for you:
ns1.newworldhosting.com
ns2.newworldhosting.com
Full Transfer will move the domain name fully to the New World Hosting registrar, and we can then consolidate your web hosting and domain name billing. Your ownership and management of the domain name is unchanged.
We can take care of either process; just visit our Domain Assistance service, and follow the instructions at http://transfermydomainname.com/
